COVID-19 Lockdown, Day 223
Much to talk about today. First, I had another dream last week. In this dream, nonwhites, myself included, were forced onto trucks and taken to a concentration camp. We went through metal detectors, had our heads shaved and designed according to race, and were beaten for being too slow or for no reason at all. There were no thugs or thots mouthing off in this dream. Either they were the first to die, or they were just as scared as I was. While we were being herded into the camp, I somehow had gotten lost from my group, and I was confused to find myself alone and frightened that I would be beaten or worse for straying from my group. All the while, I heard a song in the background from a hatenanny from George Lincoln Rockwell's American Nazi Party:
"Ring a bell, shout for joy, White man's day is here. Thirty million ugly coons waiting by the pier. America for Whites, Africa for Blacks, give that ugly ape a stick, give that ugly chimp a spear."
As I have said before, I have this awful feeling that something like this will happen to us. I know that, no matter what the soy lattes say, people are tired of us, and they hate us. Not just in the backwoods of the South, but everywhere. African Americans rioting, looting, and harassing has done little for improving race relations. Instead, in the hearts of many, the summer violence across the country, as far as too many are concerned, now define us. I still have not worn any African gear; I just can't. Maybe I will when the BLM movement becomes defunct or when African American leaders can influence a great bulk of us to take accountability for their actions and make amends when those who have been injured, traumatized, or lost businesses--including Black-owned businesses. Even then, there will still be much hatred, intolerance, and hard feelings, and unless reconciliation is make, life in America will no longer be possible.
As I worry about such a bleak future, I feel that, while we are certainly not ready for it now, an independent nation may be the best option for us one day. This nation would need to be formed out of the very land that many of us stand on or have claim to. After all, there is no going "back to Africa" for us, because, while we have been able to keep some of our West and Central African roots, we have nothing holding us to one particular nation. As one who has had a DNA test, I can say that my ancestors came from several African cultures and nations, including the Republic of Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Senegal, Nigeria, Ghana, Benin, and the Gambia, and I possibly have some Khoisan blood in me. Plus, thanks to voluntary and involuntary relationships and liaisons, I am almost 1/3 European, 24% of my blood being British. The three nations I can come close to claiming are RC, DRC, and Cameroon, but these three nations are economically and socially unstable, thanks to French and Belgian colonization. Where can we, as a people, go to have a fighting chance?
If we were to ever have a homeland, it is best for it to be where we are the majority of the population. That would be western Mississippi, southeastern Arkansas, and northeastern and the eastern half of southern Louisiana. Also, it would include the region of Oklahoma where Cherokee Freedmen and Black Landrushers built town.
In our homeland, we won't have to worry for our lives when pulled over by the police. We won't get stared at when go to restaurants in rural or affluent areas. We won't have to worry about gentrifiers taking over our neighborhoods. We won't feel as obligated to use relaxers and weave in our hair, and we won't have to worry about sending our children to schools where they will learn to be ashamed of themselves. There will be no one to call us the N-word or spit on us, and it will be taboo for us to use that word on ourselves. People of all ethnicities and colors will be free to live with us as long as they respect us and our heritage.
I know that this is just a dream that will take centuries to come true, but we will be able to show ourselves what we can accomplish when we put our minds to it. To be ready for such a homeland, we must stop killing ourselves, dressing inappropriately, or having children out of wedlock. We must learn to live for tomorrow and teach our children like.
COVID-19 Alert! The numbers of those infected are soaring again. Restaurants are starting to close their dining rooms AGAIN. I can't even host a Thanksgiving dinner because of this. Have I told you already? I hate COVID-19, and I really, really, REALLY 2020! Some Thanksgiving this is going to be.
--Signing off.
