COVID-19 Lockdown, Day 357

It was a rough week. I called my paternal grandmother, who has Alzheimer's, at her nursing home to wish her a happy birthday, and she did not recognize me. She did not know who I was. That was totally heartbreaking, and I had to end the call so that I would not become so emotional. She barely even knew she had a son. I hope I never get like that. If I do, God forbid, I wish people would put me away in a safe place and treat me as if I were dead. After all, I would be. Few things truly scare me, but I am afraid of the day when I will not even be able to wipe my own backside. Literally. I know there are people who care about me, but I never want to be a burden on anyone. I really feel for my old man. The responsibility for taking care of our grandmother falls on him because his older brother died ten years ago, and her husband died this year. I don't wish Alzheimer's on anyone. It is devastating for the family and for the patient. I saw this movie where a woman who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at an early age went for a cross country trip with her best friend and then went home and overdosed on pills. If I did not know the Lord, I would probably do the same.

If that were not enough, another client I worked with died. This makes number  8. We don't even know how he died. Next week, we are going to have a memorial for him and two others who died during the pandemic. I am so tired of all of this. I really need a new career. How much more can my heart take?

I received a response from Dick Durbin to my letter about the "Equality" Act, which was nothing more than a polite way of saying "drop dead."

Thank you for contacting me regarding the Equality Act.  I appreciate hearing from you.

I am a cosponsor of the Equality Act.  This legislation would protect LGBT people from discrimination in credit, education, employment, housing, federal financial assistance, jury service, and public accommodations.  It would add sexual orientation and gender identity to other protected classes, such as race or religion, to existing federal laws.

I oppose discrimination based on a person's sexual orientation, race, religion, age, gender, disability, color, or national origin.  The Equality Act continues the important work of expanding basic anti-discrimination protections to LGBT people.  No American should face discrimination based on their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Although we may disagree on this issue, I appreciate knowing your views and hope you will not hesitate to contact me in the future on issues of importance to you.

Thank you again for contacting me.  Please feel free to keep in touch.

      Sincerely,

      Richard J. Durbin
      United States Senator

This guy completely missed my point, and so did Duckworth. They are so sanctimonious about discrimination that they do not care that such legislation creates more discrimination. Well, I indict Durbin, Duckworth, and every Democratic US Representative who voted for this bill! I indict them of violating their oaths, violating the First Amendment, and violating the Thirteenth Amendment! Yes, I indict them of these charges because they feel that placating less than 5% of this country is more important than defending the basic  principles and protect ions of this country. I indict President Biden too--not only as a politician pushing for and promising to sign for such an unamerican act, thereby violating HIS oath and the aforementioned Amendments, but also as a traitor to the Christian faith he professes and the Catholic Church he is a member of. If, God forbid, this legislation passes, and he signs it, the Roman Catholic bishops had better excommunicate him, or they will ALSO be traitors! I listened to a sermon from a Catholic priest that summarizes my sentiments perfectly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BefWRj0c6pI.

This Thursday, 3/11/21, marked the one year anniversary of the pandemic. Biden gave an emotional speech about it, but his crocodile tears do not sway me. He should also cry for the millions of unborn babies he is allowing to continue to be murdered--with OUR tax dollars. There are reports of pro-lifers who are regretting voting for Biden. I tried to warn you, but your obsessive hatred for Trump clouded your judgement. You fell for the hype of the Democratic Party.

After the stunts Obama pulled in his second term, I was felt so ashamed for voting for people like him that I became extremely selective of the Democrats I would vote for. In fact, the only ones I would vote for are Dan Lipinski and my village's current mayor. The rest, as far as I am concerned, are enemies of the state. Yes, some Republicans are jerks, but I have not seen one Republican who has tried to nullify freedom of speech and religion. No one Republican have I seen trying to overturn the laws of nature. So, if you voted for Biden and you are against the Equality Act, or quarters given to Planned Parenthood, there is still hope for you. At the next election, vote for more non-Democrats--unless you can find Democrats that stand for the bedrock principles America stands for.  And for Heaven's sake, get rid of Durbin, Duckworth, Pelosi, and the Three Stooges (Ocasio-Cortez, Tlaib, and Omar). These are corrupt slaves to the most evil lobbyist groups, and they must be stopped.

In other news, I have selected a name for the new blog. It will be called "The Independent Thinker." I will officially launch this blog on 3/27/21, so stand by. Also, the final post for "My Daily Struggle in the COVID-19 Lockdown" will be 3/21/21. I extend a huge thank you to those who have read my posts regularly.

--Signing off.
