COVID-19 Lockdown: Day 5
I was so glad to get out of the house after work today; staying cooped up in the house since Monday afternoon was more than enough for me; I don't know how people can do it. I had to get some medicine and a few things, so I put on my mask and thick gloves and went out. I had a growing craving for a Coke, so I bought a Mexican import while I was at the store. Sure, I was one of the few people wearing masks, but so what?
So, Chicago's mayor laid down the law today because some people are too stupid and/or inconsiderate to obey the lockdown. People are going golfing, and they are socializing on the lakefront or in the park. After all that is going on, people still don't get it. Because of this, she closed all parks and lakefronts, and she told people that if anyone violated the restriction, she would fine them or even thrown them in jail. Right on, sister! It is disgusting that it had to come to this. Personally, I think it should be legal to take such monstrous morons and smack them upside the heads so hard that they won't wake up until the megillah is over and done with.
Good news: Senate unanimously passes the relief bill. If it passes House, the President will sign it, and we will get money soon to help us pull through. It's the least the government can do consider how much they take in taxes from my check, and I still end up owing. It reminds me of that Bill Cosby episode about "regular people." Of course, Cortez-Ocasio, one of the three stooges, is threatening to stall the bill because it does not include payments to the undocumented. If she or her kind do ANYTHING to prevent citizens and legal residents from getting what they need AND DESERVE, there will be hell to pay! What is with these "progressive" politicians?! First, the Wicked Witch of the East (aka Pelosi), tried to sneak funding for abortion in any possible relief solutions, and now this!
Let's take pro-choice/pro-life and immigration ideology out of the equation for a second. What does abortion have to do with putting food on the table because one cannot work? What does it have to do with saving small businesses that are losing profit because their labor is not considered essential? In the same light, except for some dreamers and those committing Social Security fraud, what taxes are the undocumented immigrant paying in their jobs? By the undocumented, I mean those who deliberately entered this country illegally.
This is another way these extremists exploit citizens and flip off those who struggled hard to get legal status--some of them making better Americans than those born here. If you give money to them, you might as well give it to the lifelong addicts, petty criminals, and career breeders (you know what I am talking about) who have never worked an honest job in their lives. Yet again in 21st Century America, you have politicians putting the welfare of all Americans in jeopardy for the sake of a small percentage of the population. In this case, 3.6%. Additionally, am I the only one who has noticed that the so-called "sanctuary" cities have some of the country's highest taxes? Who is paying for these cities to provide such sanctuary? The same people who pay the taxes. Isn't it time for the ones who pay the pipers to call the tune, or am I just "piping Dixie"? Taking it further, isn't it interesting that those who are exploited the most by these "progressives" are some of the same people who become anally retentive every time the President opens his mouth? If the relief bill fails, the wise will truly know which politicians are for the people and which are not. Maybe the people will know the danger of the snake compared to the bear. Maybe then politicians like Cortes-Ocasio will finally be branded for what they are: traitors.
Speaking of negative talk, I don't want to hear anymore. I don't want to hear anymore about how many more cases of this illness there are, and don't want to hear any more about how many people died. No more! And that goes for everyone. If it does not involve someone close to me or somehow biologially, legally, emotionally, or spiritually related to me, tell it to a friend, tell it to a relative, tell it to your diary, tell it to God, or start your own blog. Again, if you truly care about my welfare, no more negative statistics, and no more fingerpointing. I can read the news for myself, and I choose how much I want to be exposed to. If we are going to survive this crisis with all our faculties, we must think positively. We must have hope.
At least I am getting good vibes from the President. He talks of hope and how Americans must get back to work. And he is right! Americans are on the go. We are busy. We work and work hard. That is what drives the economy and what makes America a country that people still want to get into one way or another. We might be getting back to work right away, but it must happen. We must have faith and courage, and we must not be bogged down by sad facts. We must take every morsel of good news and every positive word and cling onto it fast. We must also avoid news sources that do nothing but point fingers and ridicule. Well, tomorrow is Friday, but I don't look forward to it as much as I usually do. Lord, let this crisis end soon!
Signing off.
