COVID-19 Lockdown, Day 60

Imagine a town torn apart by hatred
                                                        Intolerance
                                                                 Unequal protection under the law
In a state known for its bigotry and subjugation
Where no defiant church is safe

Mississippi Burning--The Sequel!

But wait! This is not 1964; it's 2020!

Now that I have your attention, this actually happened today, and it makes me sick! Some monstrous Christophobe firebombed this church, First Pentecostal Church of Holly Springs, Mississippi was firebombed today. This same church had sued their town who tried to restrict religious gatherings per COVID-19 pandemic. Friends, this is neither a coincidence nor an accident. This was a hate crime, pure and simple. This is a hate crime against Christians in one of the many loops of the "Bible Belt." If you have any doubts of this fact, the perpetrator punk spray-painted this illiterate sentence near the wreckage: "Bet you stay home now you hypokrits." So, not only is this person hateful, but they are also stupid.

Regretfully, Christians should not be surprised by this hate crime. Christophobia has been more overt in the past 10 years. A Texas mayor orders all pastors to submit their sermons before preaching them. A church is sued for asking a woman to breastfeed in the nursery instead of bearing her bare bosom out in the open. Churches across the country are being penalized for having drive-in services. A movie depicting our Lord, Jesus Christ, as a flamboyant, promiscuous homosexual is publicly aired, with the outcry following ignored. Yet the media depicts small-town Christians as idiots for wanting to share hope in the most traumatic period of this generation by attending worship--even whilst practicing social distancing. So much for tolerance, inclusivity, and progressiveness.

Even if their building is a shell, the congregants of First Pentecostal Church should not surrender. They should meet and worship in front of the ruins to send a message. We have been bullied by the Sanhedrin, the Romans, the Popes, the Ottomans, and the Islamists. We did not surrender to them, so we must not surrender to a bunch of Christophobic, soy-eating, pumpkin-spice-latte drinking, America-hating, Trump effigy-burning, sanctimonious punks! Yes, we should forgive them and point the way to Christ, but someone must make an example of such people. They must be pursued and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. If you can sentence a man to 16 years for burning a flag, burning a church should be worth triple that.

It's time we stop using the Constitution as a welcome mat and stop those who want to repeal or ignore the Bill of Rights. This country became a home for people of many religious and spiritual backgrounds to be free to live out their beliefs. Each of group of people are a brick of many bricks that make America, but Christianity is the mortar that holds America together. It is the mortar that shapes and maintains Western Civilization. Take it away, and the slightest wind or earthquake will destroy it. Maybe the Christophobes know that, and they want to destroy America to create their version of utopia. It is up to Christians and our benefactors to stop them and say that this will not stand!

To digress a little (very well, a lot), I noticed that 3 of you have completed my survey. Two have said that the blog should continue until after Phase 4, and one said that it should continue until after Phase 3. Thank you for completing the survey. For those who have not yet completed the survey, it is only one question. It should take less than a minute. Please go to this address: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/9FJ8FWD. I have noticed that an average of 14 people read this blog so far. I am going to need at least 7 responses before I decide. I'll announce my decision on Monday, Day 64.

Last, but not least, it's beard check time!
