COVID-19 Lockdown, Day 65

I am going to digress a from my usual topic to discuss a topic that has really upset me. By now, you know what I am talking about when I tell you about the name George Lloyd and the city Minneapolis. This is a man who was murdered by Derek Chauvin, the Klansman in blue, in broad daylight and on film. Yes, he was resisting arrest. Yes, he probably was passing counterfeit bills. Still, there are ways a belligerent perpetrator can be detained and transported without chokeholds, which have been proven to be unnecessary and deadly. I have even seen footage of a man with a weapon apprehended without injury to either party. Therefore, there is no reason an unarmed man should be killed by one officer, with the blessing of three other officers. There is no reason why a cop should kneel on a man for five minutes, FIVE MINUTES, especially when the man stops resisting. Especially when he is pleading for his life, saying "I can't breathe! Everything hurts!"

Don't believe me? Watch the video! Do you believe me? Watch it anyway. Watched it already? Watch it again. Gasp! Cry! Shout! But watch it. Witness how brazenly evil and inhumane people can be.

If you can tell me that the manner in which George Lloyd was treated by that Klansman was justified, I will tell you that you have ice in your veins. No, I will not be polite! I will not mediate! I will be outraged, and I want you to be outraged with me! This is not justice, friends. This is not upholding the law. There is only one way you can describe this: a LYNCHING!

Mayor Frey of Minneapolis called the firing of these four piles of human garbage a "good call." Maybe it is, but it is not good enough. A good call would be Chauvin sent to prison for the rest of his life, or with a needle in his arm, while his accomplices are imprisoned as accessories to murder. Am I being excessive? What if George Lloyd were your son, your father, your uncle, or your friend? You would be as angry as I am, or as angry as those who protested tonight and were met with rubber bullets and tear gas. You would also demand justice!

Justice in this case can only be found in the arrests and convictions of these officers. It can only be found in a prison sentence that similar to what Chauvin would receive if he were a civilian. If the courts refuse to prosecute these officers (such as with the Eric Garner case) or give a fair punishment (such as with the Laquan McDonald case), then they will be responsible for the riots that follow. They will be responsible for the destruction, the increased racial tensions, and the murder of possibly decent police officers. Unless Lady Justice places the blindfold back on her eyes, both of her scales will teem with blood! Should such a travesty occur, most of the guilt with be on the heads of partial prosecutors and judges. Enough is enough!

Those who know me are resting assured that I am a law-abiding man. I stay out of trouble, and I respect authority. If I were wrongfully arrested, I would submit and save my defense for an attorney. Even so, I know that there is discrimination, and now necessarily racial, but socioeconomical. In America, as with other countries, true justice is something only the rich and powerful are able to experience. Just analyze the demographics of the majority of those who have spent years on death row only to be proven innocent. This is why I am tired of being denied the rights and liberties promised in the Constitution. Still, America is my home; it is all I know. Besides, my ancestors spilled too much blood making this country so affluent just to give up my birthright. America still has potential, so it is up to the people to make America what is is supposed to be.

To conclude, I am still very angry, but I am not going to join the corrupted Black Lives Matter movement, even though Black lives do matter just as much as everyone else's. On the other hand, this matter has helped me to understand more why athletes like Colin Kaepernick kneels for the anthem. True, there is a time and a place for everything, and the workplace is no arena for protests. Besides, those who say Black Lives Matter yet support those in bed with Planned Parenthood or show less outrage when more Blacks are killed by other Blacks are full of excrement. There; I said it. Therefore, I urge everyone to think twice before showing outrage when Kaepernick or his comrades kneel. Then ask yourself what is worse: when a rogue athlete kneels, or when a rogue cop kneels?

--Signing off.
