COVID-19 Lockdown, Day 308

 Hello again.

Many of you have been very encouraging about me continuing to write blog posts indefinitely. I was originally going to resurrect my previous blog, The Silver Soapbox, but I am not set on it. But, when I retire this blog, you can be assured that I will keep blogging. For those who have been religiously reading, you have my humble thanks. I know you may sometimes disagree with me, but I am comforted that my thoughts and opinions are safe with most of you.

As a special feature, here is a poem I wrote today. It testified to how I have been feeling since the Inauguration. Hope it inspires you.

Since I was young, I loved America

It was my proud, happy home

And I was proud to be born here

My teachers taught me rights and liberties

My mother taught me responsibilities and morals

Freedom came at a cost, and we all had to pay

My feelings and wants were beneath

The good of the people

The security of the Republic

And the fear of God

We learned that we are what we are

That we cannot change it

And God doesn’t make mistakes

People were happy to come here

They knew we were a Christian nation

But they were free to worship

Any way they pleased

Because they were also free

But the America I loved

Is no longer here

Instead

I am in

A nation in chaos

A nation in distressed

A nation skirting with fascism

Where is America?

Where our children were allowed to be children

And parents could trust the schools

To teach fundamentals.

We are now in a nation

Where our children are pawns

For political correctness

They are taught confusion about their identities

They are taught to look at their bodies

And still not know their genders

They are taught to follow the herd over the cliff

Or be belittled and dehumanized

Where is America?

Where our institutes of higher learning

Would teach our youths

How to think

And judge for themselves

Now, instead of being educated

They are being indoctrinated

Instead of being trained in how to debate

They are being trained in mob tactics

So they can disrupt rallies

Of those they are taught

Not to agree with

Our daughters are taught

To march through the streets

With duct tape on their nipples

To protest being objectified

They are taught to be disorderly and obnoxious

As forms of protest

Where is America?

Where politicians used a decent dollop

Of common sense

When creating laws

Where judges followed the law

Instead of their biases and

Politically-correct indoctrination

The law was the law

And the Constitution was the Constitution

When a person felt oppressed

They were told that a business

Had the right to refuse service to anyone

And to create their own services

Hence, the oppressed could rise

And redefine their destinies

A man or a woman had the right

To defend themselves from

Those who wished them harm

And survivors were repaid for their deeds

Measure for measure

Proud Americans were celebrated

And patriots were rewarded.

Now, politicians only obey lobbyists and their parties

Leaving the people confounded and betrayed

Judges use their righteous gavels

To persecute those who are contrary to their agendas

From civil judges who pervert justice in the name of morality

To Supreme Court justices in lace who violate the Constitution

In the name of the Constitution

Business owners are taught to fear the oppressed

Until they become oppressed themselves

Because the law has turned against them

And forbids them from defending their lives

But refuses to give you justice against

Those who attack you

Because of your privilege

And because of their lives of oppression

Alas, they will stand by

While your fathers are beaten

While your wives are raped

While your children are exploited

But will act against you for

Raising a weapon to the culprits

We are living in a nation

Where patriotism is hatred

Where Christianity is hatred

Because it may offend

A foreigner

A communist

An anarchist

Or someone who abuses their freedom

A person can be fired

For wearing an American flag lapel

A church can be fined and harassed

For singing under their masks

At a socially-distanced service

Politicians and PC gauleiters

Empathize with hoards of Black and self-hating White thugs

Burn their cities in the name of

Black Lives Matter

But when a group of angry thugs and unrelated agitators

Storm the Capitol Building

Politicians talk of “deprogramming” those

That have values opposite to theirs

Fascists in Congress and their allies, Big Tech

Overtly move to erase

The Bill of Rights

From the Constitution

They censor Americans

Excuse me, Unitedstatesians,

For promoting violence

Yet they are blind, deaf, and mute

To their disciples when THEY promote violence

The economy is crumbling

People are dying

There is still poverty and homelessness

Blood still flows on Black streets

Yet politicians waste their time

Removing gender from politics

Letting boys into girls’ competitions

And impeaching a president

Who is no longer president!

Oh, where are you, freedom?

Where are you, liberty?

Where are you, justice?

Where, where, where,

Where are you, America?
