COVID-19 Lockdown, Day 335

 Good news!

As of Tuesday, February 16, 2021, I am fully vaccinated against COVID-19! Yes, I know that there is still a 5% chance I could get infected, but don't kill my vibe. Allow me some time to luxuriate on this blessing.

More good news: Parler is back online. Yes, I know that there are a few unsavory characters who use Parler, and two bigots who were in a Parler exile group with me on MeWe called me a nigger when I tried redirecting their rude behavior to the group. Still, most of those I have encountered on Parler are decent conservatives and free-thinkers who are tired of being bullied by Big Tech. It seems that the independent company that web-hosts Parler has Russian ties, but so what? It is a shame that an American has to depend on Russia for freedom of speech, but until Big Tech, New York, and Hollywood relieves itself of those who hates the Constitution or the Bill of Rights, so be it.

For those who  did not know, Rush Limbaugh, the conservative radio talk show host, died last week. Though I did not always agree with him, he always made me use the muscle between my ears, and I respect him for that. Unfortunately, there were individuals, journalists, and even professors who mocked and celebrated his death. Professors, people! Not that many leftist professors these days are worth the ink on their diplomas. The irony is, when "Justice" Ginsburg died a few months ago, there were those who sang "Ding-dong, the witch is dead," so both sides lack wisdom in how they display their feelings of others. At least Limbaugh did not have the power to legalize things that are immoral and unconstitutional. So much for unity.

Finally, last week made me remember how much I appreciate all other seasons besides winter! Practically the entire country had gotten a massive blizzard and cold snap. Even Texas lost power and cities therein shut down because of 6 inches of snow and subzero temperatures--things they were not even close to being ready for! Even though we were given notice of a blizzard in Chicagoland, which pounded us with another foot of snow to deal with, our landlord's dirt-cheap contractors did not even show up until the afternoon even though everyone else on the block had their lots plowed by 8AM. We tried calling him, but he ignored us. We had to shovel our way out--even though it was 3 men--two of them being over age 60. He does this every winter too. He won't even give us salt for the walkways when they are icy. Well, I have had it! Since he does not care about his tenants except for our money, I will do everything I legally can to make him care! No renter should tolerate this. Alas, if you can't drive out of the parking lot, you can't go to work. If you can't go to work, you cannot earn money. If you cannot earn money, how the bloody hell can you pay rent? I hear my neighbors complain, but what are they doing about it? If you will not stand up, shut up!

--Signing off.
